The time has come to claim your birthright. A time for Novus Rising!

Novus Rising, RF Online Philippines’ newest patch/update is scheduled for release on April 24, 2009.

Before going into the details, here are several IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

1. When Novus is Rising is launched on Apr. 24, you have to install the new client in order to continue playing RF Online.
2. The new client is already available for download here. You will also see other ways of getting the new client below. DO NOT install client until further notice.
3. Once we’ve launched Novus is Rising, the old RF client will already be useless (if you run it, the client will auto-patch but it will not be playable).
4. BEFORE installing the new client, you must UNINSTALL AND DELETE THE OLD RF PHILIPPINES CLIENT (AND any OTHER RF ONLINE client installed in your system such as private servers or even the global version) and remove all associated folders.

RF NOVUS RISING FAQ

1. What is RF Philippines’’ new patch called?
    RF’s new patch is called Novus Rising and will feature exciting additions to the game as well as fixes to technical problems.

2. When is the launch date?
    Launch of Novus Rising will be on April 24, 2009. We advise all players to take screenshots of their items in their inventory and storage for each character as a precaution. Please keep visiting the RF Website and Boards for news bulletins and announcements

3. What are the new features available in this patch?
Novus Rising will contain the following:
    i. Level cap increased to 66
    ii. New armor and weapons
    iii. New specialty racial upgrades

4. Where can I get the new client?
    You may get a copy of the client through the following:
        i. Netopia Branches (you can ask a DVD burned for you)
        ii. Four Part Direct Download Link: ftp://ftp.levelupgames.ph/RF%20Online/
        iii. Torrent (Full Client): http://torrent.levelupgames.ph/phRF.exe.torrent
        iv. Mirror Sites: SOON!
    NOTE: You may freely copy, replicate, burn or distribute DVD/CD installers of Novus Rising to your friends, guildmates or other Internet cafes. This is legal as long as you do not make profit out of it.

        a. Please remove RF Clients that connect to private servers and/or RF’s Global server as this will conflict with the Philippine version.
        b. IMPORTANT: DO NOT RUN UNTIL APRIL 24, 2009

6. My anti-virus detected a trojan during installation. What should I do?
     We are aware of the trojan detection and rest assured that this is a false positive - a file that does not have the virus, but is detected as infected by an anti-virus. Allow the file and continue installation.

7. How will the RF Team address the current issues in the game?
    Here are the resolution and answers to the following issues:
        i. Compensation
           Compensations will be addressed by giving out mods, promos and events, which will be announced separately.
        ii. Server crashes
            Currently known ways to crash the server are no longer effective. However, we continue to request our players to remain vigilant and report to us should they discovered new ways to bring the server down.
        iii. Duped items that are circulating in the servers:
              Due to server crashes, duped items have been rampant. We will continue to investigate characters that possess illegal items. Permanent suspension will apply to characters that obtained duped items illegally. Considering that duped items have been circulating for months already, this may take a while. Thus, we are asking for your help in reporting players that possess illegal items. On the other hand, we're closely coordinating with CCR to help us trace and delete all duped items. You have our assurance that we are seriously working on this.
        iv. Disabled Account creation
        Account creation has been disabled to prevent nuisance players from creating new accounts of which they use as a tool to bring down the servers. Registration will be enabled once the new patch is launched.

8. Are the common bugs fixed in this patch?
    - Common bugs such as bug pots, ninja move, and guild and character rank bugs are all fixed.
    - Level 50+ characters can now run for archonship.

9.Will there be a new server on the launch of the new patch?
    As of the moment, there won’t be any new server launching anytime soon.
    
10. Are there any changes with the PC requirements?
    PC Requirements for RF Online remain the same.

        HDD free space: 6.5 GB
        DirectX: version 8.1 or higher
        Internet connection: 56K Modem or higher

        CPU: Pentium 4, Athlon XP, Sempron (Clock speed 2.0ghz or higher)
        System Memory (RAM): 2Gig or higher
